On Thursday 13th October, Ennis bade farewell to Jack Heaslip of O’Connell Street. Jack died peacefully at home on Tuesday 11th October as he got ready to come to 7.40 am Mass in Ennis Cathedral, just one day after he celebrated his 96th birthday.
Jack, a proud Kilkenny man, set up home in Ennis 70 years ago and thus began a long association with the town and parish in business, sport, and faith.
On the day of his funeral Mass, he was carried through the streets of the town to the Cathedral that he had attended each morning.
May his gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.
Jack Heaslip R.I.P.
