We congratulate Mary Kennedy resident of Ennis Nursing Home, who celebrates 100th birthday on 1st May. Mary was born into the Doohan Family in Pitfield, Lissycasey, on 1^st May 1923. She came to Ennis to work in Currans Confectionary, Abbey Street where she met her future husband, the late Jimmy Kennedy, from the Causeway in Francis Street. Together, they raised their six children at their home in Francis Street, where Mary attended daily Mass in the neighbouring Poor Clare Monastery.
Mary received a letter of congratulations from President Michael D. Higgins.
