New Appointment for Monsignor Seamus Horgan

On Tuesday 14th May 2024, Pope Francis announced the appointment of Ennis Priest, Monsignor Seamus Horgan as the first Nuncio to South Sudan, residing in Juba.
Monsignor Seamus is son of the late Denis and Pauline Horgan, Tobertaoscain, Ennis, and was the last priest ordained by the late Bishop Michael Harty in the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul Ennis in June 1994. The newly ordained Fr Seamus served as a curate in the parishes of Bodyke and Roscrea. Following service in the Diocese of Killaloe, he entered into the Diplomatic service of the church with several postings around the world. Currently Msgr Seamus is attached to the Nunciature  in Washington DC.
Msgr  Seamus will be ordained Archbishop  later in the summer before taking up his appointment in South Sudan.
